The other shows grab for big ideas and span wide, throwing their arcs out everywhere. Awake thought too small. Awake wanted to do cases of the week more than it wanted to explore its own mysteries. Since Awake had a sci-fi element, it was appealing to nerds more than normal people, and nerds tend to like serials better than procedurals. It just missed its cue to go in that nerdy direction. We have enough regular cop shows.

We're really sad it was cancelled though.Ern and Leeardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02222918254913939721noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-228678769273144852.post-44269214805782656952012-07-04T13:13:49.878-07:002012-07-04T13:13:49.878-07:00I thought Awake was a quality show that was about ...I thought Awake was a quality show that was about the level of brilliance as Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Homeland, etc. Acting, directing, and the show was consistent at delivering good episodes. It felt like a cable show and a cable network such as AMC or FX should have picked the show up. (Once Mad Men and Breaking Bad finished, AMC could have had Awake...as the next best thing.)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
