The problem with having performers as judges (witness: Paula, Ellen, and the parade of guest judges over the years) is that performers care too much about being liked, rather than about giving thoughtful, sometimes necessarily mean critiques. This is why Simon Cowell was so great until he checked out, because he wasn't interested in people liking him. Best case scenario: JLo is as much of a diva as she is purported to be, and therefore unconcerned with the delicate feelings of others!
This is a very good point. Even if you don't like your judges mean, we're sure you want them candid and genuine. Celebrities have to be fake at all time, especially if they are not naturally likeable or charismatic. We're hoping J-Lo is a diva too. We've heard that Ben Affleck dumped her because she was just out of her mind.
