Scandal- season 2, episodes 7-9

This season of Scandal has been a joy from start to finish. We don't even mind that they shot Hot President. He's gonna live. There have been so many twists and turns this season that we're tempted to call it The New Vampire Diaries, since the old, regular Vampire Diaries has decided to shell out no surprises this season. Yawn. We hope so much that Mellie is involved in the shooting. She didn't want to get out of the car, remember? It seems like she might know something. Trying to kill your husband is definitely a good enough reason for him to ask for a divorce.

How dark was the finale when Huck's model family was massacred? They even showed a dead dog! Over the line, show. We didn't see that coming at all. What viewer would ever have suspected Becky of being such a key player in whatever conspiracy is going on. Now, Olivia is going to have to save Huck. He was taken away under the Patriot Act, so it doesn't look like he's going to be kept anywhere aboveboard. David and Abby are strangely sexy for a girl we hate and a guy we don't think it hot. More of them please. We even liked when she slapped him.

Cyrus and James are quickly becoming one of our favorite gay couples ever. The reason is that the fact that they are gay has almost no bearing on their arcs or how they are treated. They could be a straight couple and be doing these things. Their characters aren't all about being gay. They are about betrayal, struggle in relationships, trust, secrets, and investigations. And can we all agree that everything Olivia wears is flawless? Although anything would look good on Kerry Washington. Ugh. Too gorgeous.

We can't believe how much we like this show. Shonda has ideas in her yet.

Defiance: B+
Happy Birthday Mr. President: A-
Blown Away: A-

  1. After watching the 1st episode this season I wasn't too impressed. So after that I let several episodes build up on my DVR. Then one weekend I decided to watch them. So happy I did! I agree, this season has been great!

    1. We gave a really lukewarm review to the pilot. This is one that has to grow on you. But once it does...holy moly
