Big News- How I Met Your Mother

The show has been renewed for a ninth and final season, which means we will finally meet the mother.

    Wooh. It's about time. I think the show would have been so much better and more consistent if it had a 5-6 season plan. Great show but this needed to happen. :)

      So agree. Most shows don't need to go past season 6

      6 Seasons should be the max. 5 Seasons is what I recommend. :P 4 seasons is 1 season short :( 10 seasons "Bleq I don't care about you any more"

      Something like Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire could probably go beyond that. So many characters and there is so much they can explore.

      Disagree. I think Grey's Anatomy is the show that's done the best with going over 6 seasons, and even that show was best in its first two seasons. With Game of Thrones, the entire plot comes from George RR Martin and he's only written five books. It's hard for him to churn them out and with out his creativity, the show would not be what it is. With Boardwalk, prohibition's got to end some time, and they drag things out enough as it is.

    I just wish they had introduced the Mother in earlier seasons and we could have gotten to see her development with Ted and the group. Now it'll just feel rushed. They began incessantly stretching the story after season 5 to hold out the Mother secret and this has made Ted seem like a pathetic and desperate guy. Shame. Because this show actually was good up until season 4/5
