Nashville- Season 1, episode 9

Be Careful of Stones that You Throw- We're so close to the tour, we can smell it. Hopefully, the tour breathes new life into all of the plots. More good news: Teddy finally grew a pair. True, they are going to shrivel up and fall off next time Lamar changes tactics, but for now, we're glad to see him not be completely useless in every way.

Deacon, meanwhile, has gotten more interesting. He's not loving the rock-and-roll life, and he seems about two seconds from getting a drink. That music journalist he slept with/his ex is so beautiful. Unlike Rayna, she actually has a forehead. Yay! But neither his ex nor his picture on the cover of a magazine could quell his ennui. He needs to join Rayna's tour. Avery needs to have a humorous comeuppance at some point for all the betrayal.

We loved the song Twist of Barbed Wire. We've heard Scarlett do tons of old fashioned, quiet guitar pieces with Gunnar, so it's time she did something different. This rocked. It was way better than her last attempt to get grittier (the Johnny Cash cover that would have killed Cash if he were still alive). Scarlett should have joined that band. We guess some girls are just addicted to drama.

Headsmack. We can't believe Juliette and Tim Tebow eloped. Juliette just wanted to have sex with him and that was the only way to get it done. What a horrible idea, and we aren't the only ones who think so. So, rehab mommy is throwing out the good advice now? Not buying it, lady. You have to be wise for more than an episode before- okay, actually her advice was so obviously spot on that we want to start calling her New Deacon.

It was such a trainwreck thing to do to ditch Tebow right before the second, fake wedding, but it's very Juliette. Since Tebow lost his virginity to her, he'll probably put up a little bit of a fight before she goes for good. Let's face it: he was sweet, cute, and way too good for her, but we can't have probably the best character on this show married by episode nine. What's the fun in that?

Episode grade: B+
