Mindy's Brother- If our brother wanted us to let him quit college, we might just let him. College might be a scam unless you pick the right major or have a specific career plan. Seriously, before you go to college, read that. And don't go to law school.
Already been scammed by greedy universities or just need general motivation to make yourself better? Read this in its entirely. And this. See, this isn't just a comedy recap, it's a life changer! Yeeeee! Okay, onto the episode.
Well, this one was no Christmas episode. After a great midseason finale, the show is back to giving us B-plots we don't care about. Heck, the Mindy plot wasn't even that great. If you're going to bring on a family member, at least make him memorable. Where's cousin Mose when you need him?
We liked Mindy's interactions with the midwife. In fact, what if a new midwife were to come to the show as a villain? The Office works partly because of its antagonist (Dwight).
The stress barfing was almost funny. The rap battle was a little funnier. We love Mindy's traditional side that leads to her scolding young people for having sex/talking about sex when they are too young. It's fun to see her not trying to be cool in that area in order to appeal to the hipper, younger crowd.
At least this episode learned to keep Mindy, Danny, and the British guy front and center, mostly ignoring the secretaries. The secretaries aren't funny. They are mostly a waste of time. So is Morgan, with the exception of the occasional good line about prison.
Episode grade: C+
