I'm surprised you gave Off the Map a B. I'm about ready to give it up - it is really NOT impressing me.
ReplyDeleteWe're gonna do a post on it. While we would give most Off the Map episodes a bunch of Cs and Ds, this episode opened up the possibility of ongoing storylines with the natives/people, rather than just week-by-week emergencies. We like that.
ReplyDeleteI gave Parks and Rec at least a B+. The show's been SOLID since they returned for midseason. It's been very bad for my giant crush on Chris Pratt.
ReplyDeleteAlso, a C for 30 Rock? The Canada stuff alone elevated that one to a B!
Maybe we are being so hard on Parks and Rec because it HAS been so solid. We expect a lot. As for 30 Rock, the Canada stuff was great, but the episodes didn't draw a lot of laughs. And we are sad to see Matt Damon go.
ReplyDeleteWhat did you think about Mr. Sunshine? D is a low grade but I'm a Friends fan so I was interested in this show, so please can you explain why was so bad the pilot? Is Ben a Chandler's rehash? I haven't seen the episode yet. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWe are Friends fans too! And Chandler is the best character, duh.
ReplyDeleteWe don't think Ben is too much of a Chandler rehash. We just didn't think the pilot was very funny. Then again, people have different senses of humor. We don't like Two and a Half men, and millions seem to love it. So you might like Mr. Sunshine. The show seemed forced and it was kind of a downer.
Also, it could get better, like Cougar Town did. That was just the pilot. Sometimes it takes comedies a while to find their voices. There's opportunity for it to become decent. If you are really interested, don't let the D put you off from watching it next week.
