Hannah called Brennan, and Brennan met Booth at the bar. Booth didn’t want to talk about it, but he said that he wondered what was wrong with him that none of the women he loved in his life ever wanted to be with him forever. Then Booth made it pretty clear that he wasn’t ready to get into discussing the Brennan/Booth romance. He needed a partner, and a drinking partner, that night. She stayed and drank with him.
People on the show kept asking the question that all of us are asking now: “What happens next?” Apparently, the show writers think that having Booth and Brennan fall into a relationship together soon would be too contrived, so they are going to drag it out even more. There will be an episode soon where Booth and Brennan get stuck in an elevator together and are forced to talk a little more in detail about where they stand in their relationship. But we wouldn’t expect them to get together anytime soon.
It looks like this season will be mostly known for Hannah unless the writers can pull off a great sniper arc or have Booth and Brennan get together in the finale. Since Hannah didn’t go out with a bang, we are wondering if her arc was a complete waste of time. Most of us are still hanging onto this show to see a Brennan/Booth relationship. Is anyone enthralled by the weekly cases anymore? At least with Hannah gone, the two are one step closer to getting together.

I will admit, I'm worried.
ReplyDeleteHannah was all "I don't believe we're done." It makes me paranoid that she'll be back. But the logical side of my brain reminds me that Booth would never take her back after that.
It's frustrating because it seems like the writers are channeling their inner Season Three Grey's Anatomy writers. "Let's see how long we can drag out a relationship until the viewers just want the characters to join hands and jump in front of a train." There was no point to the Hannah arc. Just another wrench in their inevitable relationship.
I'm glad that he didn't want to talk about it. I'm glad that she drank with him to just give him the friend he needed. And I'm glad they're going to give him a bit of time to heal before building the real relationship between Bones and Booth.
But it better happen realistically. Because if they throw in another wrench, if they make them all awkward and angsty, I'm done. They've built the relationship over the years, they've now admitted that they love each other, the only step is officially letting each other in.
And it better happen this season so the entire season wasn't a waste.
The writers admitted that there was a debate going between them over whether the season should end with B/B getting together, with fierce arguments on both sides. With the elevator episode coming in March, signs hint that it is very possible that this could be the season. But if it isn't, then we fear they will drag it on until the show is cancelled.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, we bet they will bring Hannah back for one episode of closure, next season or something.
One of us is really starting to hate this show.
