Bunheads: Season 1, Episode 15-18

Take the Vicuna (B+), There's Nothing Worse Than a Pantsuit (B-), It's Not a Mint (A-)- We don't care for the Millie building an amphitheater storyline, because there isn't much at stake there. Still, it's nice to have Liza Weil on our TVs again. The show kind of dropped the Michelle's mom plot as soon as it brought it up. Is that going to come back soon? Why bring it up if you're not going to do anything with it? We'll wait for season two on that one.



Sasha and Roman are adorable together, and we always want more time with them. We've seen mostly a cutesy, shy side to their relationship, and we'd like to see more of them actually being together, rather than dancing around each other. They are game players, and that's fine. It makes for some sweet, awkward moments.

Still, we'd like to see a real conversation or learn something about Roman's family life or hobbies. Is he a person or a walking mystery? Clothes and eyeliner do not a character make. We loved Sasha's apartment and her worries that Roman would put pressure on her just because she lived there. We like that she stood up for herself and said something.

We liked the evacuation episode and we feel like we almost got Kirk back. Our favorite part was the end when Michelle finally took Godot home with her. We know it feels like that's happened a dozen times before, but no. They always get interrupted by something, even if it's just Michelle's blabbermouth. We like the idea of Dez having more to him and Melanie giving him a chance. Not that it was remotely believable that he knows anything about art and photography.

We're glad that Melanie and Ginny stopped fighting. That was getting old. Melanie can talk to Cozette, jeez Louise. Our second-favorite part of that episode was the Hope Springs obsessions and the almost-good (but mostly terrible) Tommy Lee-Jones impressions. Frankie looks great shirtless, as you might have guessed. Better than that wolf kid on Twilight.

We're glad we didn't actually have to see Talia get married. Now that we know how the Frankie/Ginny thing went, Cozette's lion-eating-the-gazelle story seems more sinister. Did Cozette put Ginny out of her misery, hoping that she would date Frankie or hoping that Frankie would use Ginny? Either seems possible. Evil Cozette would be a lot more interesting than Perfect Cozette. This show could use a villain.

Next- This was the season finale. We know, it didn't feel like one, did it? No resolutions for anyone and no big jawdroppers, unless you count Ginny being the first Bunhead to bang. Surprise! So sad though. Her mother is awful, and that's probably why no one told her how to handle guys. We sincerely hope that she gets Frankie back, along with a little more wisdom.

Fanny rolls in for the finale, probably because it's the finale. Fortunately, she didn't annoy us much. We like her better now that we know she went to Woodstock. We loved that she kept Scotty busy. Michelle killed it at her audition, and it's so sad that the entertainment business is really like that. It's who you know, not how good you are, and there are fake auditions and people who just hire the same people.

MTV had to give Jennifer Lawrence her SAG card and chance to get in the biz. She did some My Super Sweet 16 commercials. Now, she's an Oscar winner. You really need that foot in the door, and after all this time, Michelle hasn't had it. Sutton Foster has though, so that's almost as good (if not better).

Sasha needs to calm down. We loved Boo standing up to her about wanting to have sex when she wants to have it. We also loved the way Michelle handled Sasha's request for a sex talk, especially how she didn't really want to do it. Millie and Truly make up, but they both want Scotty? Interesting. Ish.
Episode grade: B+

Hopefully this show is renewed because, while nothing happens, we've grown to like it. Leeard thinks it might be one of her two favorite shows on TV right now.
