Checking in with The Big Bang Theory- Ssn 4, Eps 2-4.

This blogger’s opinion of this show is that it is just one, long joke about nerds, but that joke is at least mildly funny. The quality and style of the show is somewhere between That 70s Show and Two and a Half Men. (That 70s Show being the superior series and Two and a Half Men being the worst.) As the other blogger once wrote, this is not a “water cooler show.” If you miss it, that’s fine. Catch it tomorrow or just watch the new one next week. It’s one of those things this blogger will watch any time it’s on, but not a must-see. Maybe it would be funnier for physicists who get all the science references.

Is it our imagination, or does Leonard sometimes look really white and then sometimes look really tan this season? It’s wigging us out. In episode two, Sheldon made himself into a absurd-looking robot, which was hilarious for a while, but it got old around the time the robot left the apartment. They just played it out too long. Episode three was funnier, because it featured Amy, Sheldon’s rude “friend who is also a girl.” They had a well-written argument and broke up. Then Sheldon, despite a mentioned cat allergy in season one, bought 25 cats to comfort him during the breakup. Sheldon’s mother got them back together, which is great, because Amy seems perfect for Sheldon and NO ONE ELSE. She sort of sounds like Frasier Crane’s ex-wife on Cheers/Frasier. The other blogger pointed out that Sheldon is the best character on the show, but this blogger grows tired of him if the others aren’t given their own storylines and things to do. In the fourth episode of the season, we got to see Sheldon spar with Raj, which was great. Also, Bernadette is back. We finally noticed why we hate her now: The actress was on True Blood, and she was annoying.

This season, the show is still a perfectly serviceable comedy. It’s not on par as far as laughs go with comedies like Modern Family, Community, or even How I Met Your Mother, but the writing is clever, the acting is good, and the quality stays level.

The Big Bang Theory - The Robotic Manipulation

So glad this show is back. This blogger has never actually watched it the night it airs, but then again, The Big Bang Theory has never been a "watercooler" show, so it's fine. That's how we recommend it to people, too - it's a fun show to watch, but it's just as good the morning/afternoon after.

Howard made a robotic arm unpack the gang's dinner. It may have taken 28 minutes, but it was worth it. Now we want one. But, as Sheldon so appropriately points out,"We must be cautious. Today, it's a Chinese food retrieval robot. Tomorrow, it travels back in time and tries to kill Sarah Connor." He really does get the best lines. We love that Wolowitz is using his robot, which is designed for use on the space station, to do something this mundane.

This isn't a novel thought, but Sheldon and Penny together is just awesome. He belittles her in almost every way possible, but they still manage to make it funny. Bravo.

We're pretty sure everyone knew where Howard having a robotic arm was going, but it was still pretty funny to watch. The end tag was great, too.

TV's Most Dateable Guys Part 2 (We're thinking this is a three-parter)

Alex Santiago, Pretty Little Liars – Extremely sweet and genuine but we are sure he has a deep, dark secret, like every single person on that show does.

Owen Hunt and Jackson Avery, Grey’s Anatomy—We know some people dislike these characters, but they are the only guys on the show who haven’t cheated on any of their women…even if Owen did dump one in an email. That's better than nothing. And they are the only guys on that show who don’t whine and mope around like a couple of girls…well, except for Jackson’s rant on how no one takes him seriously because he is hot. And we think Owen made up for the choking thing (that was ONE TIME) by running back into the hospital to get Cristina when there was a shooter in there. Even if he was useless and just ended up getting shot.

· Derek Morgan, Criminal Minds – Fiercely protective and ridiculously good-looking. Also, he probably has the least amount of baggage out of everyone on the show, which has to count for something.

· Sam Swarek, Rookie Blue – If you watch the show, you know exactly why he’s on the list. Swarek is gorgeous, sarcastic, and not afraid to go into the women’s locker room. This isn’t taking into account the season finale, which sucked.

· Matt Donovan, The Vampire Diaries – He’s not as hot as Damon or Stefan, and he’s not as BA as Alaric. But he’s cute, sweet, and loyal. Also, we like our guys human. And if he’s dating Caroline, obviously his standards aren’t that high. Easy man candy.

· Jeff Winger, Community – Yes, he’s a jerk. But he’s a funny jerk who really seems to care about his friends. And if he’s good enough for Trudy Campbell, he’s good enough for us. Plus, he reminds us of that awesomely hilarious guy on The Soup.

· Leonard, The Big Bang Theory – While Sheldon is easily the best character, Leonard is the only one actually worth dating. He’s sweet and socially awkward, but that’s his charm. Also, who else on that show is dateable? Howard? Raj? No.

· Danny Messer, CSI: NY – There’s a pretty common theme in this list. We love cops. Messer is adorable and definitely has the best accent of anyone on this list.

· Tony Reali, Around the Horn – It took some convincing, but he’s on the list. He is gorgeous, absolutely hilarious, the best host AtH has ever had, and seems to know everything about sports. Any questions?

· Matt, Friday Night Lights- He takes care of his grandma, plays great football for such a tiny little thing, and he’s totally sweet. There are a few guys on that show we would date, but Matt is number one on that list.
