A Quick Thought On the Boardwalk Empire Finale

Pretty well-done. We liked the reconciliation between Nucky and the widow, since that's what the whole show is about. And we like the new Jimmy/Eli betrayal of Nucky. We wish there had been some action and a little of the riotous, dark tone of the pilot.

We don't think we will follow the show live next year. This is a good show, but it would be easier to get/stay into on a DVD binge. We will watch it, but we will wait until we can see many episodes at once. So, goodbye BE weekly recaps. You have been a pain in the neck to write anyway. (Some shows are easier than others to write about. Easy shows to write about: Glee, America's Next Top Model, Grey's Anatomy, Dexter, Breaking Bad, and LOST, which we are still writing about, even though it's over. South Park, Bones, and HIMYM are surprisingly difficult. The Vampire Diaries is difficult for one of us to write about, but we both love it too much to stop.)

Episode grade: B

  1. ; ) ahha! so you like when I do the bones review because you think it's a pain in the *** ;)

    I'm kidding

I think vampire diaries is hard to recap!

  2. Haha. Yes!. But we also like/agree with the opinions you insert in thr Bones ones. TVD is hard to be concise with, but one of us was in the journalism school in undergrad, and the main thing you learn there is hot to nutshell and condense. If it weren't for that practice, it would be almost impossible. Once, the other blogger wrote the tvd recap, and it was long enough to be a novella...it was good though, so that's the tradeoff sometimes. It is hard to be clever and mention details and mock them in a short post.

  3. have you seen the ridiculous TVD recaps on TV.com? the humor is a little crude for my taste, but they're very popular sometimes funny

that reminds me- where do you get your tv news? even though Aussiello was the fluffiest site ever I loved it, I haven't found a good replacement. I'm too much of a twidiot to follow him there :)

  4. One of us has seen them. You know, sometimes it's a struggle to keep it clean. But enough older family members check in on the blog that we must.

Ausiello's rival, Kristin, is good too for news, but not as good as Ausiello. His new site needs to go up, stat.
