The Glee Project Finale Comments

Lots of people haven't seen it yet, so we are posting our thoughts in the comments of this post.

  1. While we were both rooting for Hannah from an early date, when she was eliminated, we were both backing Damian. Why?

Samuel: Was a real dark horse. He has a very "blah" personality, his talent isn't mind-blowing, and we don't find him sexy. Toward the end, he started getting easy to relate to, and we realized he was a nice person, so he was our second choice.

Lindsay: One of us thought this girl was a total bitch, but both of us liked her voice. She had the talent, but she ruined her chances of winning the biggest prizes because of those times when she came across as fake.

Alex: What. a. diva. This guy showed his arrogance one too many times. Also, the drag was great the first time. After that, it got lame. He had a stellar voice though. But we already have a Kurt AND a Mercedes.

Damian: Talent-wise, he was one of the worst. But who can resist an Irish accent? And that personality? He was an easygoing, genuine person, and we need that on Glee. Also, we are jazzed to see a lower male voice on the show. Most Glee singers (and male pop singers in general) are tenors. "Beyond the Sea" was a perfect song for him. He can bring a laid-back, Frank Sinatra vibe to our TVs. And for that, we are glad he won. He seems to have been the viewers' favorite of the four. (Cameron was the viewers' favorite out of all of them, and we liked him too).

And kudos to Ryan Murphy for breaking the rules and allowing multiple winners. We aren't sure about the two-episode arcs, because Glee feels too full and busy as it is, but having Samuel and Damian both on for seven episodes feels right.
