What’s On the Weekly Schedule for the Fall

There have been questions (ok, question) about what to expect to see covered on this blog. This post is to answer that question. First, a caveat: Occasionally, something horrible will reduce this blog to one post a day, usually of the best or worst show we watched the previous day. This something horrible is exams. If there is a show that you absolutely have to have a review on, no matter how late we do them, let us know and we will do it late/after exams. But on all non-exam weeks, this is what things should look like.

Sunday The Good Wife, Once Upon a Time, The Walking Dead, Homeland, Hell on Wheels, and Dexter. We have dropped Boardwalk Empire, due to boringness and a focus on love lives and childhoods over actual mobster activity.

Monday: How I Met Your Mother, Terra Nova, Gossip Girl, and Two Broke Girls.

Tuesday: Parenthood, Glee, New Girl, Ringer, and Sons of Anarchy.

Wednesday: Revenge, America’s Next Top Model, Up All Night, Suburgatory, Modern Family, and Happy Endings.

Thursday: Person of Interest, Community, Parks and Recreation, The Office, Prime Suspect, Grey’s Anatomy, The Vampire Diaries, Bones, and The Secret Circle.

Friday: A Gifted Man, Nikita, and Fringe. We are currently catching up Blue Bloods, and we will start writing about it as soon as we are caught up.

We are also trying to catch up on Castle, Justified, Raising Hope, and It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia. We are caught up on Mad Men (all four seasons). Yeah, that finally happened. We’ll do a post on those four seasons and start writing about the show when season five starts. That’s a long time away, but just to let you know. We also reserve the right to mention any other show that we watch.

  1. Soo many shows....and more next year :S I have a problem sticking with shows just in case they become better. Hopefully some of those shows that end up being bad or okay get cancelled. (That sounds bad but it'll fix my problem!) This is my insane schedule for this year. (Some of these will have their finale soon..)

Sunday: Breaking Bad, Boardwalk Empire, The Walking Dead, Dexter, Homeland, Hell on Wheels and Once Upon a Time

Monday: Terra Nova, How I Met Your Mother, Two and a Half Men, Alphas, Weeds, The Big C. I dropped Mike & Molly and Hawaii Five-0.

Tuesday: Glee, Ringer, New Girl, Raising Hope, Sons of Anarchy, Parenthood, and Awkward.

Wednesday: Up All Night, Modern Family, Harry's Law, American Horror Story, Blue Mountain State

Thursday: The Vampire Diaries, Community, The Big Bang Theory, Parks and Recreation, Person of Interest, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Archer

Friday: Chuck, Nikita, Fringe and Boss. I dropped Blue Bloods.

Next year: Southland, Californication, Shameless (US), Justified, Mad Men, The Killing, Game of Thrones, Switched at Birth, White Collar, Falling Skies, Pretty Little Liars, Wilfred, Louie, Alcatraz, Awake, Smash, anything on HBO/Showtime and AMC/FX that comes out (unless it sucks).

  2. Lots of good picks here. It's nice to know what other people are watching. We like that you watch Southland.

  3. First of all, thanks for answering my question :)
Second of all, WOW. How do you get time to watch SO many shows?! It's hard for me to watch even half of that list because I watch all of them online as they are either not aired where I live or they are really behind ( e.g. they started Dexter this year and showed all 5 seasons at once).

Anyways, this is all I can watch-

Sunday- Dexter, Pan Am (maybe, I haven't seen it yet)

Monday- The Lying Game, Castle, 2 Broke Girls, Terra Nova, Hart of Dixie

Tuesday- Glee, Ringer, New Girl, Awkward, Unforgettable

Wednesday- Modern Family, Revenge, Up All Night
Thursday- The Vampire Diaries, Community, The Secret Circle, Person of Interest, Prime Suspect

    Friday- Nikita

I'll also watch White Collar, Pretty Little Liars, Switched At Birth, Cougar Town, The Killing, Awake, Alcatraz and Teen Wolf when they get aired.

  4. You're welcome :)

How do we do it? First of all, having two people helps. Secondly, it's all about multitasking and watching online so that there are no commercials. What do we do when we are getting dressed and doing our hair and makeup? That's an hour of TV. What do we do when we are cleaning our rooms? Well, the TV (or computer) is on. When we need a break from studying, we hit play. Waiting for class to start? We hit play. Every little minute of TV adds up. Also, getting up early. It's 9:00, and one of us is done with all of last night's TV.

Nice list. Even though we don't often blog about some of these, all the shows you watch are also watched by at least one of us, if not both. With the exception of Castle, which one of us is going to get into.

  5. Glad to hear you're going to blog about The Secret Circle every week! I am really loving that show.

  6. It's in our top five new shows, for sure!

  7. I'm happy you'll be covering Glee every week. I am liking this season more than last season so far, especially because Darren Criss is now a regular and Damian from TGP is set to come on soon. :)

  8. Damian!!!!!!!!!! He's all kinds of adorable. Darren too, obviously.

  9. I watch my shows online as well. I used to watch them on air (to support the shows)..but I figured I should just stream/download them on-line instead which would save me 20 minutes on 40 minute shows and 10 minutes on 20 minute shows. (which I could use that time to add a couple more shows instead of watching the commercials..and I need that time for other things!) It's basically just 3 hours every night...so it's not all that bad. (People play video games for way more hours and still manage to get things done.:))..and I hope not a lot of people do the same thing as me..otherwise we would be stuck with reality shows. haha (I'm bad and this makes me look ugly)

  10. We would watch them on air if we had Nielson boxes. But we have not been blessed with such input :( Obviously we think we SHOULD have Nielson boxes, haha.

  11. I actually watched all four seasons of Mad Men too since it was on Netflix. I actually enjoyed it once I watched a few episodes. The only thing I didn't like was all the constant people cheating on their spouses.

I hope you'll tell me which of the new shows are worth watching.

  12. We watched Mad Men too. It was full of cheating. Was cheating REALLY that common?

So far Revenge is decent, but not sure if it's for you. New Girl is cute if you think Zooey Deschanel is cute, but it's unbearable if you think she's annoying. Secret Circle is good, if you can roll with teen witchcraft as a subject. Prime Suspect is a decent cop show, but not as good as Southland. Pan Am was watchable and could become good. A Gifted Man showed some progress.

But really, it's too early to tell with anything. No "must watches" so far. The good stuff will probably come midseason.
