We missed Lea Michele and her voice this week. Where is Quinn? WHERE IS QUINN? We love her so much, and we enjoy her voice more than most of the voices in this show's history. Most of the superhero identities and costumes were just dumb. We think these kids are a little old to be doing this, and if they had, they would have been embarrassed and made fun of the entire episode. Still, unique idea. We're glad the episode made Finn comfortable in his new role instructing the Glee club, because you know we couldn't take much more of pathetic Finn. If there was anything this show didn't need to drag out, it was this.
Puck's advice to his brother was outrageously stupid, but it worked, because so is Marley. You've gotta make them work for it, girl. All of the Warbler stuff was hilarious. We don't appreciate when Blaine sings as much anymore, because he doesn't have much oomph behind his voice, and they overautotune it, but having him sing a lot fit with the focus of the episode. Some Nights is a really cool song, and the Glee cover didn't top the original, but it was better than it had any right to be. Dark Side was only good because of the background a Capella work. We loved Holding Out for a Hero and Heroes. Superman was okay.

We don't think girly is an insult, but we agree that it's not technically the best voice. However, it mixes well with most other voices and was pleasant to listen to, at least for us. And her character was great when the writers had her being mature and compassionate. Yeah, Quinn was all over the place when the writers were being lame, but at least she wasn't one-dimensional. She was smart and we got invested in her.
DeleteAgreed, I would much rather see more of Quinn than any of the new characters. She was far more interesting. Seriously, Kitty is a very one-dimensional mean girl and the Marley feeling fat story is getting annoying (she is like the skinniest girl this show has ever seen!)

Marley is a complete simpleton. We kind of like Kitty now purely because of the actress playing her. We think she's doing a good job with the atrocious material she's given, and she has a very distinctive singing voice that we're learning to like. But yeah, we didn't need Quinn and Rachel 2.0. We needed new characters.
DeleteFirst off, I thought, in general the super hero storyline was the stupidest storyline Glee has had since Grilled Cheesus. Second, very little Rachel last week & no Rachel this week? What's up with that? I am also sick of hearing Blaine sing all the time. Spread the solos around a little! Honestly, to me, the songs on Glee have gone down so much. I used to buy pretty much all of the cds shortly after they came out, but not anymore. If the song doesn't grab me right away or is a song I like anyway I'll usually fast forward thru it. Having said that, I did anjoy Some Nights and Holding Out For A Hero was alright. Oh, but one of the best things about this week's episode? No Unique!!!I can't wait for Quinn's return next week!
ReplyDeleteI care so little for Unique that I didn't even notice him missing. Ugh, he sucks. I'd rather hear Blaine than Unique. Also, at least this week was funny, unlike Grilled Cheesus.
