The entertainment blog that started because of two out-of-control television addictions. We might as well do something with it.

Ugh, this is going to be the most boring finale of all time.
ReplyDeleteOne of us is not watching. The other one of us is annoyed and thinks it's lame that one of us won't be watching. It's not a boycott. One of us just genuinely doesn't care who wins anymore. Especially since it's guaranteed to be Scotty McCreery.
ReplyDeleteI'm crossing my fingers for a Lauren "underdog" victory, as I'm annoyed that yet another male who is considered by some to be "cute" is going to win again. FAIL.
ReplyDeleteIf he were cute, we'd understand. But he isn't even all that cute and he is SO pandering.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree. I think he looks like Alfred E. Neuman (especially the ears), but his hometown visit would seem to suggest that there is a large subsection of teenage voters who indeed think he is "cute". Gross. And he's pandering in the worst way.
ReplyDeleteThe winner is rarely any good. Kelly and Carrie being the exceptions. So it's fitting that he wins and the others get better record deals.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about that. While Lee Dewyze and Taylor Hicks (and stupid Scotty McCreery now! Ugh! Fail!) somehow slipped through the cracks, Jordin Sparks's (a Kanakuk girl, btw, Ern) has had some really great singles, David Cook was far and away the best his season, and Kris Allen's record is fantastic. "Good" winners are about half and half now.
ReplyDeleteOne thing is clear after this whole season, though: a woman can't win this show.
Maybe I should check out David and Kris' records. Jordin has a great voice, but I think it isn't suited to modern pop, which is what she does. Maybe I should have said "great winners."
ReplyDeleteAnd you may be right.
