Glee Season Three News

As much as we don't believe anything Ryan Murphy says after he said that Rachel and Finn would be together for all of season two, these statements about season three gave us pause.

1) He said that there will be fewer songs per episode.

This is such a mistake. We are hopping mad. It's hard enough to get our favorite singers doing enough songs already when they are split up between everyone on the show. Why does Ryan Murphy think we watch Glee? It's not for the plot or the characters. It's for the music. And sometimes the one-liners.

2) He said that there will be no guest stars except for one tribute episode that he's been working on getting for a while.

Ok, we will accept that. Getting rid of the flashy guest star episodes can only help the show.

3) He said that the seniors on the show will graduate. Unless they are pulling straight Fs, like Brittany. There will be lots of new kid characters to ease us in.

Good luck getting us to buy those soundtracks if Rachel leaves the school .... When asked if they could graduate but stay on the show, he said, "I don't think I like that idea."

  1. Glee needs popular songs that were popular songs back then, not currently...Songs we don't hear a million times when we go outside, listen to the car radio, etc. It also definitely needs it's own songs to keep it more interesting.

Guest stars are pretty pointless in shows like Glee. (Since they find a dumb reason to get rid of them anyway...) Plus, they take up space when it comes to the Glee club.

As much as this season (2) sucked..I'm glad that people will grow up with a show like this. (Nick/Disney pretty much suck now.)

  2. Agree about the popular songs. We actually almost mentioned that in the post. As long as the "fewer songs" are from at least five years ago, we're fine with fewer songs.

We don't know if we'd let our kids grow up with Glee. Call us prudes, but we think it should be for 14 and up.

  3. Ok I will seriously stop watching Glee if they get rid of the current cast and get a new bunch of kids. And if they do that, the show will probably get cancelled. But I'm hoping they won't because I'm sure they too know that the show is dead without Lea Michele. Besides that, I'm happy about the lack of guest stars and themed episodes in season 3 :) And I want them to have more original songs and more mashups because they're awesome :)

  4. You know, as much as the loss of Lea will hurt us, we don't think it will hurt the show. Lots of people loathe her character. Most people like the side characters, like Brittany, the best.

The show will also have to find a new, big-voiced second soprano. She won't be the same as Lea, but there's no reason to think she won't be good. As long as it isn't Charice...Leeard hates her voice. The show may lose some viewers, but we think most people will stick with it and it will pick up new viewers as well.

It depends on the new characters for us. If they add new good ones, we will be happy.

Agree about the mashups. We only want original songs if they are good like "Loser Like Me." We thought the other three were "meh". "Get It Right" was ok.

  5. My mind is boggled.

Less songs? Maybe he means more like the beginning of season one when they picked songs that fit and really did them right instead of cramming as many songs in as possible. I cannot emphasize enough that I agree on the 5+ yrs old. No more current top 40. Why would I buy Glee's version of Adele's song when I just paid for Adele's version and frankly hers is better?

I will pay for a new version of my broadway collection because I already have 3 versions of every song anyway. What's one more?! ;)

Lots of people do hate Rachel. I love her. Most importantly, while I adore Santana's voice and I think Quinn's is good, I will essentially cease to buy any of their music without her. She wipes the floor with the rest of them vocally. I may stop watching out of sheer protest. It would break my heart, but I'd be mad and I get stubborn.

    UGH

  6. It makes sense that she would graduate though.

They should let Morrison go on his solo "career" and let Lea Michele stay on and teach the Glee club.
