Grey's Anatomy- season 9, episodes 8-9

We liked Neve Campbell guest starring as yet another of Derek's sisters. She's direct, smart, and honest.  We loved her calling out Meredith on being a selfish, distant family member who doesn't come to visit and doesn't seek relationships with her relatives. It really is weird. We get that Meredith didn't have a cozy family life growing up, but she needs to not let her crummy family make her pre-judge her new one. Neve looks like she could be related to Stephen King or Rob Lowe.

Derek resisting help was completely annoying. How prideful. Ask your fracking family for help, dilhole (see the dorky-arse lengths we go through to keep this blog family-friendly?). We're glad he finally got the operation. It really is time to put the plane crash behind us.

We love that Alex was wrong about "Princess," and they actually have a lot in common. We were mortified when she burned that bridge though. Hopefully she gets a chance to prove herself to Alex when the next disaster hits the hospital. We like the way the show is developing all the interns, which is better than the way they've done it in the past. They are getting just enough attention to establish them as characters and not enough to change or ruin the show too much.

Nobody cares about Bailey's romantic life, but it was charmingly hilarious and awkward the way Bailey asked Callie, Arizona, and Meredith to be her bridesmaids. The cold feet scenes were annoying, but it was awesome the way Bailey ditched her wedding to help a friend and started working on Adele in her wedding clothes. The drama where her groom-to-be overheard Callie talking about how Bailey was scared to marry him would be riveting with any other couple.

Of course we were thrilled that Owen and Cristina are going to try again, partly because we respect marriage and think people should try to stay together, and party because we loved them getting together in season five. They've been fairly horrible together after that, but season five Crowen was so good we're still into them. We also love when people actually communicate on this show. There are always misunderstandings about who likes who and why. Like with April and Jackson. They are being idiots and creating drama. They like each other. Get on with it. Callie is probably our second-favorite character at this point, because she keeps yelling at Arizona.

  1. I think Neve Campbell was the perfect choice to play Derek's sister. It was great when she told off Meredith. I think she did wonderfully & I hope they bring her back more. The Bailey cold feet story was just eh to me. I was surprised when they brought Adele in spitting up blood. I wonder where that storyline will go?? I agree about the interns. They're doing really well integrating them into the show this season. It was also great when Callie gave Arizon that talking to. It's about time!

    1. They need to have a whole holiday episode next year with Derek's entire family and the babies. It looks like it's finally time for Adele to die.
