The entertainment blog that started because of two out-of-control television addictions. We might as well do something with it.

Breaking In, Chaos, The Defenders, No Ordinary Family weren't all too bad
ReplyDeleteThe Chicago Code, The Good Guys, Lie to Me, Lone Star, Life Unexpected were pretty good shows.
What shows are you guys mostly looking forward to (based on the trailers of the shows or concept)? or are you guys going to do a blog post about that? :)
One of us is devastated by the loss of The Chicago Code, and the other one of us will miss Lie to Me.
ReplyDeleteSo far, Alcatraz and Secret Circle are shows we are excited about, but we ARE going to do a full post on other shows we are excited about...much later, right before they premiere in the fall so that we can remind everyone to watch them.
Alcatraz looks amazing! The concept sounds so stupid, but the trailer they released had me jumping up and down. Well played, Mr Abrams.
ReplyDeleteWe don't fully trust him after that boring Undercovers, but chances are, it won't be a complete waste of time.
ReplyDeleteChicago Code is the only one I will truly miss. Not as good as Ryan's previous effort, The Shield, but still compelling.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I hate to admit it Off the Map was turning into a pretty decent show, and deserved a second season.
V needed to be put out of it's misery...exactly how not to do sci-fi.
Alcatraz looks awesome, but Abrams is stretching himself pretty thin; not sure how "hands on" he will be. Here's hoping for something great...
YES, we love that you admit that Off the Map deserved a second season. Too bad the pilot turned so many people off. We were fans in the end, and we didn't even like the pilot.
ReplyDeleteAbrams needs to lob most of his stuff into the hands of his Damon Lindeloff-ish nerd hands. He needs to find some religion and philosophy nerds and punt these ideas to them, like he did with LOST.
Agree about Lindeloff and nerds of religion and philosophy! Abrams tends to put his name behind good concept stuff (even Undercovers had a good concept, at least), direct the pilot, and then let others run the day to day, hence Jeff Pinkner making Fringe AWESOME. The JJ Abrams brand is enough to convince me to watch a pilot, though!
ReplyDelete^Yep. JJ might be too corny and boring sometimes. We didn't love the first season of LOST. We like it and it was ok, but it was too cheesy and not high-concept enough. Then JJ left the day-to-day to someone else, and it became pretty much the best show ever.
ReplyDeleteA good idea is half the battle, and that's a battle Abrams usually wins. Can't WAIT for Alcatraz's pilot.
I was sad to see that Hellcats & Better With You got cancelled. Both really cute shows
ReplyDeleteOne of us was into Hellcats. Not enough to write about it, but enough to watch. She also watched Better with You, but didn't really like it.
ReplyDeleteThe other blogger hated both with a passion and is excited that they are gone. They weren't the worst shows on TV, but with so much to watch, they weren't priorities. Still. They should have stayed rather than Two and a Half Men.
