That's pretty interesting. As a non-American it helps me get an idea of what is where; apart from New York and California, my knowledge of American geography is pretty much nil.
ReplyDeleteIf it makes you feel any better, we'd get lost in your country too. We live somewhere between The Walking Dead and Dexter. Wow, those are the wrong shows to live near, lol.
DeleteYou guys got me hooked on The Vampire Diaries! I have been trying to catch up with all 3 seasons which basically is me watching random episodes from each season and piecing together what happened. But it is so much better than I ever imagined it would be! The only problem is I can't get anyone I know to watch it because they hear "vampire" and immediately think it's some stupid Twilight thing, when in fact it's a seriously awesome show.
ReplyDeleteIt IS hard to get people into it. And wow, we can't imagine skipping around on that show. So much happens in every episode and it really moves forward and relies on twists. That must be hard. Glad you're enjoying it anyway.
DeleteDon't forget the "diaries" part..it just makes it more worse with "vampires"
DeleteHahaha. It's an even worse name than "Cougar Town." I finally got my sister to watch TVD and she came back and said, "I can't believe how good that show is! Why is it CALLED that. They only had diaries for like three episodes."
DeleteHave you guys ever seen MTV's Awkward?
ReplyDeleteLeeard is mildly obsessed with it, and Ern is (finally) catching up. What did you think of the season premiere? Leeard really enjoyed it, but we'll put up an actual post about it once Ern has seen it.
DeleteI love that show, it's so good. I had to catch up with the whole first season before the 2nd one aired...it wasn't actually that hard, since they're only a half hour and there was only 10. I really liked the premiere. This season looks like it's going to be very different from the first...probably in a positive way.
Deletetwo eps left until I'm done with season one!
DeleteLove this. Thanks for posting it. :D Not a lot of awesome shows in my state (California) but they are still pretty great stuff. (still need to check out Arrested Development, though)
ReplyDeleteI have watched most of these except:
- House
- Deadwood
- Carnivale
- Gossip Girl
- Eastbound & Down
(Dropped Portlandia)
Catching up on Supernatural and so far it's pretty amazing. Yall should check it out.
Also, I have not seen True Blood. Is it worth checking it out or do you think The Vampire Diaries is enough?
DeletePortlandia is good, but it's one of those that you don't have to see every episode. It's one joke: hipsters suck. House repeats itself too. Deadwood is brilliant, but for a specific taste. Carnivale is good, but not worth watching because there's no ending. Eastbound and Down is funny. Gossip Girl's first two seasons are worth it. Supernatural is on our list to finish. My brother assures me that it gets less cheesy after season one and starts being awesome.
DeleteTrue Blood is a show we watch, but we kind of hate it. It has a lot of gratuitous sex and it seems like nothing ever happens. Also, 90% of the characters are annoying and deserve to die. Not one second of True Blood is as good as the worst moment of The Vampire Diaries.
However, it can be funny and outrageous. We say check out season one, the best season. That's the season that got everyone hooked. If you love it, continue. But know that it just goes downhill from there. Season two was okay, season three was bad, season four was mostly bad, and season five just started.
Thanks for the comment. I guess I'll just stick to The Vampire Diaries. Eastbound and Down was a show I couldn't get into. (Tried 2 episodes)...Maybe I'll get it a better try.
DeleteMeh, it's more important that you give Arrested Development a good try, because it's a better show and the humor takes a while to get used to. Lots of people think it's stupid at first, but then end up loving it. Eastbound and Down is either your humor or it isn't.
DeleteI'm going to try to watch Arrested Development as soon I finish catching up on currently airing shows. (Don't feel like waiting until more seasons come up...I sort of hate catching up on 5 seasons or so of shows, haha..and well I also don't like being late to TV shows..and also because of discussions of the shows being more active during air time...but catching up on shows can also be pretty fun)
DeleteI really hope you guys at least saw some of the end episodes from the last season of Gossip Girl. They were SO BAD that it was hilarious if you could just treat the whole thing as a comedy. The amount of recycled plot lines and ridiculous dialogue and situations made me laugh out loud. Did you guys see any of it? It would be funny to hear your take.
ReplyDeleteWe stopped watching this season right in the middle, so no. We should have stopped after season two.
DeleteOn that note, that's the tragedy of this blog: we hardly ever get to eviscerate something because we try to only watch good TV/TV we like.
DeleteWhat summer shows are yall watching so far and what summer shows are you waiting for?
ReplyDeleteAlso, have you caught up on any shows over the break? :D
DeleteDefinitely Watching: Weeds, True Blood, Bunheads, The Newsroom, Pretty Little Liars, The Glee Project, Awkward, Breaking Bad, Web Therapy, Episodes, Dance Moms, Perception, Big Brother, So You Think You Can Dance, Political Animals, Copper, The Big C
DeleteCatching up on/will probably watch this summer: Louie, Inside Men, Hell on Wheels, Suits, Warehouse 13, Damages
Catching up on/caught up on for fall since the break started: Supernatural, Castle, The Walking Dead, Justified, Downton Abbey, House of Lies, Suburgatory, Person of Interest, 30 Rock, Blue Bloods, Doctor Who, Modern Family, Scandal, and Southland.
This list could change at any time.
